When the diesel engine is running at no load or light load, it emits black smoke. When it is a heavy load, the smoke is too heavy, it is abnormal. So today we come to understand the 6 major reasons for black smoke. Please avoid it in daily driving.

1. The injector works badly
Poor atomization or dripping of the fuel injector is especially obvious when the diesel engine is at low speed. The lower the speed, the greater the smoke. The injector parts should be cleaned, ground or replaced separately.

2. Improper adjustment advance angle of fuel supply
If the advance angle of the fuel supply is too small, the post-combustion increases and the fuel cannot be completely burned, forming carbon smoke and discharged, causing the exhaust to emit black smoke. The fuel supply advance angle should be adjusted to an appropriate position.
3. The fuel supply of the injection pump is too large The fuel supply is too large, the black smoke is continuous, and the greater the throttle, the greater the black smoke. The reason for the excessive fuel supply is that there is an error in the fuel injection pump calibration, which results in an excessive oil quantity; the oil pump oil adjustment screw is loosened to increase the oil quantity; the smoke limiter comes off and the black smoke is very large when starting. 4. The air filter is clogged After the air filter element is clogged, the intake of the diesel engine is reduced, and the same amount of diesel is injected into the cylinder. There is not enough air to mix with it. The air cleaner element should be replaced.

5. The diesel engine is overloaded When the vehicle accelerates and climbs, the diesel fuel injected into the combustion chamber increases, and local air combustion will be insufficient. The diesel fuel will decompose and polymerize into carbon smoke under the condition of high temperature, high pressure and lack of oxygen. Should try to avoid overloading the vehicle during operation.

6. The quality of diesel is not good Diesel engines use low-quality diesel, or diesel contains other impurities in the fuel, which results in insufficient combustion and black smoke.

Tips:
In addition, the compression ratio is not enough, the valve gap is too large or too small, the valve is sticky or the valve and valve seat are not tightly sealed, and the wear of the piston ring and cylinder liner will cause the diesel engine to emit black smoke. Therefore, the symptomatic analysis should be carried out in the judgment to eliminate the fault in time.
