If you look, most of us only focus on a few aspects, including tire care, brakes, and even batteries. Yet as smart vehicle owners, we should focus on a few other aspects.
So we share important vehicle maintenance tips for you to benefit everyone.
- Tyres
Make sure the air pressure on your tires is according to the specified specifications. Inaccurate air pressure can cause your tires to crack and break easily. Also, the surface of your tires will wear off faster.

You can measure the wear level of your tire by looking at the mark in the center of the tire. Make sure the interest on the tire is not less than the mark. Check tires at least once a week.
- Engine Oil
Engine oil or lubricant keeps your car driving quiet and long trips are not a problem. Engine oil needs to be changed according to the period of use or total travel distance.
Semi-synthetic engine oil can be used for up to 5,000 km or 3 months while full synthetic oil can be used for up to 10,000 km or 6 months.
Do not let the oil in the car engine exceed the set limit as this can leave sludge that will stick and thicken on the inside of the engine. This can cause various other problems and critical damage to the engine
- Air Filter
Needs to be changed every 20,000km because to facilitate the filtering of the air suction outside into the injection.
- Radiator coolant
The price of a bottle is RM8 – RM15. Usually green. Can be changed every 60,000km once. The use of coolant compared to ordinary water will make the engine heat up slower and also not easy to boil. If possible, you can also empty the radiator tank while changing the coolant (Radiator flush).
- Belt
There are several types of belts in your car that are better known as timing belts. You need to make sure the belt is not worn and loose. Loose straps will cause loud noises on the engine parts. Service your belt if this happens
- Break
You need to check the brake disc as well as the brake disc layer every 15000 km. If the pad layer appears to be thin to the backing plate, the pad needs to be replaced. The allowable wear rate of brake pad liner thickness is not less than 2 millimeters (mm).
If the brake liner thickness is less than 2 mm, the end of the clip will rub against the brake disc and a sound will be heard indicating the minimum level of use of the brake pad and it should be changed immediately.
Otherwise, various problems will arise what we call secondary defects. Among them, the brake disc will experience a lot of scratches, the brake disc will be hot (burn) leaving a bluish-black effect and this will cause less effectiveness of the braking system.
